In the Global 2000 list released by Forbes, industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries ranked 45th and State Bank of India ranked 77th among the top 100 companies. Last year Reliance Industries was the only Indian company in the top 100 with 45th position. This year, SBI has progressed by 28 positions and jumped to 77th position. JP Morgan is number one, last year’s top Berkshire Hathaway is number 338.
List issued by sales, profit, assets, share capital
Forbes has released a list of the world’s top 2,000 companies for the year 2023 based on sales, profits, assets, and share capital. JP Morgan, the largest bank in the United States, took first place for the first time since 2011. Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway, which was number one last year, dropped directly to number 338 this year as its shares fell. The top ten companies mainly include five banks.
Including 55 Indian companies
This Forbes list includes 55 companies from India. Four banks made it to the top ten. Interestingly, Reliance has surpassed major companies such as BMW, Nestlé, Alibaba Group, Procter & Gamble and Sony in this ranking.
